Wanted
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Wednesday, May 16, 7:21 p.m., Fishtrap Road, "located wanted subject."  Thirty-four year old Larry J. Statham arrested on Clark Co., WA, warrant for Violation of Conditional Release.  Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Alcohol
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Friday, May 11, 3:40 p.m., 300 block No. Baxter, “cite & release.”  Twenty-two year old Brandon Dalton cited and released for Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor.

Criminal Trespass
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Saturday, May 12, 11:20 a.m., 240 Hwy. 42, Hwy. Deli, 21-year old Nathan Smith arrested for Criminal Trespass.  Earlier, at 5:54 a.m., 1100 block West Central Blvd., “subject laying on floor of business.”  Nathan B. Smith arrested for Criminal Trespass II, transported to Coos Co. Jail and then Coquille Valley Hospital.  On the North Bend Police log for Saturday, May 12, 12:19 p.m., 1611 Virginia Ave., Pony Village Mall, security sent a trespass notice to be served on Nathan B. Smith.  “Chief Blue of Coquille PD has subject in custody a the Coos Co. Jail at this time.”

Semi Accident
A red 2000 Freightliner semi tractor trailer went off of Hwy. 38 at milepost 15.3 May 5, 4:19 p.m., when the operator dropped his coffee cup and attempted to retrieve it while eastbound.  According to an Oregon State Police report, 61-year old Douglas Ernest Bliss, Portland, was distracted when the commercial vehicle's right side tires left the roadway and struck a rock/soil embankment.  The collision damaged its oil pan and oil and other engine fluids spilled onto the roadway.  Bliss was not injured, but he was warned for Failure to Maintain a Single Lane of Travel, Failure to Carry Proof of Insurance and cited for Carless Driving.

Deer-related accident
A while 2001 Mazda B2300 pickup was damaged when a deer crossed Hwy. 42, milepost 13, and struck it May 4, 8:45 a.m.  According to an OSP report, the driver and his passenger were not injured.  The deer was crossing the state route from the westbound side to the eastbound side.  The vehicle did receive moderate damage to its front end and was disabled.  The deer was killed.  The vehicle was operated by 22-year old Christopher Robert Dillon, of Eugene.  

DUII
A response to a reported "altercation between the reportedly intoxicated subject and employees of the Silver Dollar Tavern," May 3, 5:45 p.m., led to a DUII arrest at a sports bar on Ocean Blvd. in Coos Bay.  According to an OSP report, "subject was seen driving away from the establishment.  His vehicle was located in the parking lot of Gooney's Sports Bar, and when contacted inside of the establishment, he was as reported; visibly intoxicated.  He denied driving and stated that 'a friend' had driven him to Gooney's."  Fifty-three year old David Wayne Hanson, Coos Bay, agreed to perform a Field Sobriety Test and failed.  He was placed in custody for DUII and transported to NBPD for a breath sample.  Hanson was transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Concealed Weapon
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Friday, May 4, 10:32 p.m., Hwy. 42 & Rink Ck., "traffic stop."  Thirty-one year old Crystal Joffroy arrested on charge of Carrying a Concealed Weapon and cited for PCS Less 1 Oz. Marijuana.

Resisting Arrest
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Sunday, May 6, 12:20 a.m., 2nd & Central, "result of casual contact," 20-year old Alexander J. Goble arrested for Furnishing Alcohol to Minor, Disorderly Conduct II and Resisting Arrest.  Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Backpack Theft
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Saturday, may 5, 6:51 p.m., 300 block E. 7th, "theft of backpack."  Forty-three year old James W. Skinner charged with Burglary I and Theft II.  Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Accident
The driver of a black 1996 Ford T-Bird lost control of the vehicle on Hwy. 101, milepost 240, May 1, 10:15 p.m., and crashed.  According to an Oregon State Police report, the vehicle left the roadway, struck the rock embankment and came to rest.  The vehicle suffered severe damage and had to be towed.  The driver, 23-year old Shanna Kay Vierra, Coos Bay, suffered facial injuries, but refused medical attention.  She was cited for No Operator's License and Driving Uninsured.

Rollover
A maroon 2002 Chevrolet S-10 pickup, involved in a single-vehicle accident on Hwy. 38, milepost 7, on April 28, 8:57 p.m., could not be found after the driver returned to the scene.  According to an OSP report, 61-year old Johnnie Jay Swigert, Milwaukie, was driving the truck when it left the road and overturned.  He "extricated himself from the vehicle and was attempting to flag down passing traffic, when subject's companion canine was struck and killed.  subject was transported to Reedsport Police Department and notified law enforcement of the crash."  Swigert's family arrived and took him back to the accident scene, but the vehicle was not located.

DUII
A report of a "naked man running in and out of campsites in numerous locations on Coos River Hwy.," April 28, 10:40 p.m., led to the arrest of a driver for DUII.  According to an OSP report, "I located the naked man, clothed, as a passenger in a vehicle.  I observed the female driver displaying signs and symptoms of impairment."  Thirty-year old Heather Ann Puckett, Coquille, consented to and failed a Field Sobriety Test.  She was transported to North Bend PD for a breath sample and released to a sober adult.  The male was warned for Disorderly Conduct.  The 1998 Ford F-150 was towed.

False Info & Drugs
A 1992 Chevrolet Blazer, stopped April 28, 3:50 a.m. on hwy. 101, milepost 238.5, led to an arrest.  According to an OSP report, "the rear seat passenger was identified for not wearing a seatbelt.  A records check determined that the man had given me a false name.  I reminded the man of the consequences for giving a false name in regards to a citation and/or a warrant.  He continued to claim the false name."  Twenty-five year old Jon Alexander Burkert, transient in Lane Co., was placed in custody.  "As he was placed into handcuffs he gave me his true name  A records check revealed that he was wanted out of lane county.  He was transported to, and lodged at the Coos County Jail."

VBR
The driver of a silver 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck, stopped April 27, 10:33 p.m., on Hwy. 38, milepost 21, for Violation of the Basic Rule (Speeding 79/55) received a criminal citation.  According to an OSP report, 25-year old Scott Douglas Wymore, Clackamas, was towing a flatbed trailer with ATVs.  He admitted he was driving while suspended and did not have an SR-22 on file.  His passenger was also violation suspended.  Wymore was cited for Failure to Return Suspended ODL , DWS-Violation and VBR.  The vehicle was secured at the scene pending arrival of licensed operator.

DUII
The crash of a 1993 Chevrolet Suburban April 27, 7:30 p.m., on the Cape Arago Hwy. (SR240), milepost 6.5, led to an arrest for DUII.  According to an OSP report, 54-year old Johnnie Calvin Langley, Lakeside, crashed "when he failed to maintain a single lane of travel.  The vehicle travelled off the roadway and down a 50-foot embankment before coming to rest on its side near the bay."  Langley, his dog and a female passenger were not injured.  He was taken into custody for DUII and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.  The dog was taken to the Coos Co. Animal Shelter.

Harassment
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Friday, April 27, 7:24 p.m., 400 block E. 2nd St., "assault."  Seventy-eight year old Delton Francis arrested for Harassment, Criminal Trespass and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

DUII
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Saturday, April 28, 11:26 p.m., So. Folsom Ct. and So. Adams, 52-year old Thomas Anderson arrested for DUII and cited for DWS

DUII CS
A 1995 Ford Aerostar van, stopped for Failure to Yield to Pedestrians and for Defective Equipment April 23, 4:13 p.m., on Hwy. 42, milepost 22, led to an arrest for DUII Controlled Substance.  According to an Oregon State Police report, an investigation revealed that 53 year old Robert Bruce Myres, Powers, "was impaired."  He was arrested and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille after "a small amount of dried MJ and a smoking pipe with burnt marijuana" was found in the vehicle.

Accident
The driver of a 1998 Toyota Camry stated he was looking at his cellular telephone when his vehicle left Hwy. 39, milepost 7.9, and crashed on April 22, 7:52 a.m.  According to an OSP report, 27-year old Kyle Andrew Dooley, Cottage Grove, was westbound when the sedan drove off the shoulder, traveled down an embankment and struck trees.  He was transported to Lower Umpqua Hospital in Reedsport with a "visible injury."

DUII
A 1993 Mercury station wagon, stopped for speeding, April 22, 4:49 p.m., on No. 8th St. near Kristi Loop in Lakeside, led to a DUII arrest.  According to an OSP report, 24-year old Anthony Dwayne Jerin, Albany, was found to be impaired.  He was charged with DUII-Controlled Substance and transported to NBPD where he was released to a family member who agreed to respond to the department and assume responsibility for him.

DUII
A 1999 Ford Expedition SUV, stopped April 22, 1:07 a.m., on Hwy. 240 (Cape Arago Hwy.) at Pigeon Point Road for speeding, led to a DUII arrest.  According to an OSP report, 22-year old Brett Chandler Jensen, Lebanon, "showed signs and symptoms of impairment."  He consented to and failed a Field Sobriety Test and was arrested for DUII, transported to NBPD.  Jensen was released to a sober responsible adult.  Two adult passengers were cited for Open Container and the vehicle was towed.PCS Marijuana
A 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche stopped April 21, 8:45 p.m., for a traffic violation on Hwy. 42, milepost 39, led to a charge of PCS Marijuana.  According to an OSP report, "during the contact I observed criminal activity.  A consent search of the vehicle revealed the operator to be in possession of marijuana, a .25 auto pistol."  Both the marijuana and pistol were seized.  Twenty-eight year old Michael James Quass, Redding, CA, was released with a criminal citation.

Burning material
A lit cigarette was allegedly thrown from a bronze 1988 Cadillac April 21, 11:56 p.m., while northbound on Hwy. 101 at milepost 236.  According to an OSP report, the speed of the vehicle also increased rapidly from 41-55 in the posted 40 mph zone.  A traffic stop was initiated.  Twenty-one year old Thai Dickinson, Coos Bay, stated "he does not have a driver's license and has a permit.  The male adult passenger was 18 years of age.  The subject admitted throwing the burning cigarette from the vehicle.  He was warned for Offensive Littering and cited" for Throwing Burning Material, Speeding, and No Operator's License.  The vehicle was released to the passenger.

Accident
Both drivers complained of pain following a two-vehicle collision on the Cape Arago Hwy. at Bastendorff Beach Road April 21, 2:225 p.m.  According to an OSP report, both vehicle were eastbound when the lead vehicle, a 1992 Buick Regal, operated by 62-year old Charlene Mae Culver, Coos Bay, slowed to turn left.  The operator of a 2004 Acura MDX SUV, failed to notice the vehicle in front of him turning in time to avoid a collision.  Twenty-eight year old Christopher Schlievert, Coos Bay, attempted to swerve to the right, but struck the rear of the Buick causing a high speed left turn.  The Acura came to rest in the eastbound ditch.  Both vehicle were towed. No citations were issued.

Warrant
A 38-year old male contacted April 21, 12:35 p.m. angling in the Pacific Ocean off the Cape Arago Hwy. at milepost 10.5, led to an arrest.  According to an OSP report, 38-year old Jeffrey Wayne Robinson, Florence, was found to be wanted on a warrant out of Lane Co.  He was arrested and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille on the warrant for Probation Violation, Assault IV.

DUII
A blue 1995 Honda Civic coupe, observed passing a southbound vehicle on Hwy. 101, milepost 202, April 20, 10:49 p.m., at a high rate of speed in a No Passing Zone, led to a DUII arrest.  According to an OSP report, the State Trooper followed the vehicle at 80+ mph, "noting a maximum speed on radar of 86-mph.  The operator of the second vehicle pulled off and hid."  An odor of an alcoholic beverage emanated from the vehicle's interior, "and the subject admitted that he had consumed one alcoholic beverage.  He was exhibiting signs of impairment and agreed to perform Field Sobriety Tests and failed."  Twenty-two yea rold Dennis Lee Phomphakdy, Reedsport, was arrested and taken to Reedsport PD.  He was cited for DUII, VBR, Speed Racing, and Pass in No-Pass Zone.  He was released to the care and custody of a sober, licensed adult family member.

PCS Meth
A 1989 Toyota Corolla, stopped April 20, 11:56 p.m. at Newmark and Schoneman in Coos Bay for an equipment violation, resulted in a citation for PCS-Meth.  According to OSP report, 31-year old April Star Warmack, Coos Bay, was in possession of a used meth pipe and other paraphermanlia.  She was released at the scene.

Warrant
A passenger in a green Toyota Avalon, stopped April 20, 8:40 p.m., on Hwy. 101 at milepost 243, was arrested on a warrant.  According to an OSP report, 40-year old William Ray Hargis, Coos Bay, was found to be wanted in Douglas Co. on a Failure to Appear charge.  He was transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

PCS Marijuana
A silver Mini Cooper, stopped for a traffic violation April 20, 7:40 p.m., Hwy. 42, milepost 6, led to a citation.  According to an OSP report, "I observed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle."  The passenger, Richard Paul Wilhelmsson, Boulder RK, CA, was cited for PCS Marijuana and released.

Accident
The driver of a 2007 Ford F15 pickup truck that missed a turn in Winchester Bay off Hwy. 101, milepost 215.9, April 20, 2:33 p.m., changed lanes suddenly and ended sideswipping a 2007 Toyota Prius operated by 73 year old Judith Ellen Townsend, Carson City, NV.  The Toyota left the highway onto private property and crashed into a cement wall causing extensive damage to the vehicle and injuries to both passengers.  They were taken to Lower Umpqua Hospital in Reedsport, and driver was transferred later to Riverbend in Springfield.  The driver of the pickup, 50-year old Jon Patrick Bensching, Chehalis, WA, and his passengers denied injuries, but he was cited for Careless Driving.  The pickup was driven from the scene, while the Toyota was towed.

Violation of Court Order
A 2003 Nissan Frontier was secured at Newmark and Morrison in the Empire District of Coos Bay April 20, 2:04 a.m., following a traffic stop for a moving violation.  According to an OSP report, 23-year old Jimmy Lee Enlow, transient in the Coos Bay area, was found to be wanted on a warrant.  He was transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Warrant
A report of three "kids on the roof" of an elementary school on the 1300 block of No. Gould St. in Coquille Tuesday night, April 24, led to a warrant arrest.  According to an entry on the police log for 6:54 p.m., 36-year old Anna Bulbucan arrested on two Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office warrants for Failure to Appear on Identity Theft, two-counts of Forgery I, two-counts of Theft I, Theft II and Forgery II.  Also, Failure to Appear on Burglary II and Theft I charges.  She was transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Arrest
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for early Tuesday morning, April 24, 1:33 a.m., 1900 block Maryland Ave., Myrtle Pt., "request for assistance," 32-year old Andrew Moore arrested by MPPD and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille by CQPD.

Disorderly Conduct
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Thursday, April 19, 7:44 p.m., 300 block W. Hwy. 42, "woman screaming at a cab at location."  Sixty-one year old Ellen Martinek arrested on charge of Disorderly Conduct II and Criminal Trespass.  Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

DUII
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Thursday, April 19, 6:46 p.m., No. Gould & 6th, "drunk driver."  Forty-four yea rold Kenneth Riley arrested on charges of DUII, Resisting Arrest and cited for Failure to Furnish Breath Test/Urine Sample.  Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

DUII
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Sunday, April 22, 1:21 a.m., Hwy. 42, Hwy. Deli Mart, "result of traffic stop," 0-year old Cody R. Ring charged with DUII, Unlawful Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Marijuana, Unlawful Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, Marijuana.  Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.
