North Bend Police Log

Arrest
A traffic stop for speed led to an arrest and vehicle impoundment on Bayshore Drive in Coos Bay early Thursday morning, May 17.  According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for 12:57 a.m., 38-year old Billy Joe Kelley was arrested on a charge of PCS Hashish and one Oz. Marijuana.  Also cited for No Valid Operator's License and Driving Uninsured.  Warned for speed.  

Tagging
They were dressed in all black when they were witnessed "tagging" a dumpster on the 2500 block of Sherman Ave. in North Bend Wednesday night, May 16.  According to an entry on the police log for 11:42 p.m., "reported male and female dressed in all black just tagged dumpster.  Last seen headed southbound on Sherman Ave."  Police responded but were unable to locate the suspects.  "Officers located additional tagging on dumpster on the 2400 block of Sherman Ave.

Individuals
Individuals on the North Bend Police log for Tuesday, May 15.  At 8:50 a.m., 2200 block Everett, "RP reported a male subject was in her yard urinating on her fence.  Officers responded/located subject on Broadway/17th.  he denied incident."  Fifty-four year old male warned for Disorderly Conduct.  At 11:58 a.m., 2100 block Marion St., North Bend VA Clinic, "RP reported male patient making threats to harm his wife's doctor."  Sixty-seven year old Coquille male arrested on Police Officer hold and transported to Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay.  At 12:10 p.m., 2000 block of Sheridan Ave., "male subject yelling at his wife during her visiting time.  Subject is sitting in his vehicle outside waiting for her to leave."  At 12:29 p.m., 1611 Virginia Ave., Pony Village Mall, "officer out with male subject in Mall parking lot that has been trespassed."  Thirty-seven year old male warned and he moved to sidewalk.  At 1 p.m., 2000 block Sherman Ave., "RP reported older male came into store and appeared confused and they couldn't understand him."  Officer located 61-year old male and gave him a courtesy ride to address on Union.  At 7:28 p.m., 1800 Sherman Ave., public library, "off duty NB officer reported male transient interrupted a meeting at location, extremely Disorderly Conduct, last seen headed on foot northbound."  At 10:32 p.m., 2200 block Newmark, "employee at Yogurt Stop advised 2 subjects there after closing, stole their tip jar money, left unknown direction of travel.  Officer respond, advised value taken $17, report taken Theft III, officers will continue to attempt to locate throughout the night."  At 11:54 p.m., 1800 block Johnson St., "RP reported an intoxicated male subject wandering around with bare feet and seems agitated, request for welfare check.  Officers respond / located the subject who had walked to Airport Hts. Market, confirmed he is intoxicated but fine."  Forty-year old male warned for Disorderly Conduct.

Intoxicated
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Monday, May 14, 6:32 p.m., 1300 block Sherman Ave., "several reports of female laying in driveway of Moe's Bike Shop.  Officer advised she was extremely intoxicated and was transported to Bay Area Hospital," by ambulance.  Forty-eight year old female involved.

Dispute
A report of a "male grab and drag female.  Now yelling at each other," led to a citation for marijuana possession Monday, May 14 in North Bend.  According to an entry on the police log for 6:20 p.m., 1700 block Virginia Ave., 41-year old Thomas Sandoval, North Bend, cited and released for PCS Less than an Oz. Marijuana.  Also warned for Disorderly Conduct.  Female was given a courtesy transport.

Disorderly
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Monday, May 14, 5:49 p.m., Sherman/Newmark, "RP reported a male subject riding a bicycle on Sherman at Newmark with his pants around his ankles.  People are yelling at him to pull his pants up."  An officer checked the neighborhood, unable to locate suspect.

Warrant
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Monday, May 14, 8:35 a.m., Albany PD served NBPD warrant on 49-year old Bruce Allan Jewell for Failure to Appear on Contempt of Court charge.

Warrant
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Thursday, May 10, 11:02 a.m., 2900 block Broadway Ave., "officers attempting warrant service at location."  Forty-two year old Michael G. O'Neill arrested on Coos Co. Sheriff's Office valid warrants for Failure to Appear on original charge of DUII and Failure to Appear II.

Assault
A report of a “possible dispute next door,” led to two arrests early Saturday morning, May 12, on the 500 block of Wall St. in North Bend.  According to an entry on the police log for 2:08 a.m., 21-year old Richard Gerald Ulveling III was charged with Assault IV-Domestic, and 23-year old Frankiee Gail Boyle was charged with Assault IV-Domestic.  At 2:21 a.m., same block, “officer request medical for Tazer deployment.”  At 5:28 a.m., same block, “RP reported female involved in assault earlier is not acting strangely.  Officers respond and advised subject refused medical.”  Forty-three year old female involved.  At 5:31 a.m., same block, “female involved in assault earlier now acting strangely.”

Disorderly Conduct
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Saturday, May 12, 12:34 a.m., 900 block Virginia Ave., “RP reported male/female dispute.”  Nineteen year old Colton James Spatz arrested on a charge of Disorderly Conduct.  Earlier, at 10:58 p.m., Friday, May 11, Spatz was also involved in another police call.  “Officer out with two in verbal disagreement.  Officer advised parties have separated and gone separate ways.  Male warned DOC, Interfering and Theft.”

Probation Violation
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Saturday, May 12, 12:05 a.m., Oak St. Park, “officer out with one male adult.”  Twenty-four year old Casey James Carlson arrested on charge of Probation Violation and warned for Criminal Trespass in the Park.

Generator thefts
It’s been a rough couple of nights for the Davis Carnival at the Pony Village Mall in North Bend.  According to entries on the police log for Thursday, May 10, juveniles were fooling around with hydraulic lines.  Then, on Friday, May 11, police were notified of two generator thefts.  At 9:17 p.m., a blue 3500 watt Chicago Generator, valued at $500.  At 9:49 p.m., a yellow “very dirty” 1200 watt Champion Generator, valued at $250.  Both thefts are under investigation.

Cited in lieu of custody
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Friday, May 11, Newmark St./Fire Station 3, “casual contact with subject.”  Thirty-seven year old David Timothy Allette, Coos Bay, charged with Theft III and cited in lieu of custody.

Reckless Driving
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Saturday, May 12, 8:05 p.m., Myrtle & Virginia, 23-year old Colin Bechhaus Kirby cited in lieu of custody for Reckless Driving.

VRO
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Saturday, May 12, 3:33 p.m., 100 block No. Cammann St., “follow up.”  23-year old Cory A. Corrigan, North Bend, arrested on charge of Violation of Restraining Order and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Toys on bridge
An Oregon State Police trooper reported to North Bend Police Wednesday evening, May 9, that a motorist had flagged him down on t he McCullough Bridge, needing assistance.  According to an entry on the police log for 6:32 p.m., "the subject lost a load of toys and they were strewn across the bridge.  Officer responded to assist."

Shoplifter
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Wednesday, May 9, 1735 Virginia Ave., "RP request an officer respond.  Safeway  Security has female in custody for Shoplifting."  Sixty-one year old Patty Darling-Edwards, North Bend, cited in lieu of custody on charge of Theft II.  Value $163.57.  Also, trespassed for one year from Safeway.

Accident
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Wednesday, May 9, 12:57 p.m., 3200 block Sherman Ave., "multiple vehicle MVA.  One vehicle upside down."  The NBFD EMS was dispatched along with police.  Injuries were reported.  Vehicle #1 was identified as a 1988 Honda Accord operated by 24-year old Rachel R. Wintjen, North Bend.  Vehicle #2 was a 1987 Dodge Dakota pickup truck operated by 76-year old Robert A. Dyer, North Bend.  Vehicle #3 was a parked 2007 Chevrolet Impala, owned by 33-year old Heather L. Harris, North Bend.  

Theft
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Wednesday, May 9, 3201 Tremont Ave., "follow up."  "Mill Security requests officer respond to Senior & Disabled lot.  They have a subject detained at this time who is a suspect in Theft case."  Twenty-nine year old Stephan Ellsworth Evans cited in lieu of custody for Theft by Receiving.

Detainable subject
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for early Wednesday morning, May 9, 3:46 a.m., 3201 Tremont Ave., "Mill Security reported detainable subject at location."  Thirty-one year old Ryan Crousser, Coos Bay, was taken into custody on charges of Probation Violation, PCS Meth and Introducing Contraband to a Correctional Facility.  He was transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille and trespassed from the Casino for a calendar year.

Probation Violation
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Tuesday, May 8, 1100 block of Virginia Ave., "RP request to speak to an officer about a letter she got."  Seventy-one year old Paul Rogers, North Bend, taken into custody on charge of Probation Violation and Referred to the DA's Office for PCS within 1,000 feet of School.  Also cited for PCS Less than an Oz. Marijuana.  Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Traffic hazard
They were reportedly sitting in the "middle of a lane of traffic causing a major traffic problem" on the McCullough Bridge in North Bend Tuesday evening, May 8.  According to an entry on the police log for 6:39 p.m., "officers respond and contacted the subjects who were now out of the roadway and sitting on the curb / warned for Disorderly Conduct."

Detainable
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Tuesday, May 8, 2:31 p.m., 2500 block Sherman Ave., "off duty OSP trooper advised female who is on detainable list is sitting on bench in front of Bungalow Market."  Twenty-two year old Lauren Harsh, North Bend, taken into custody for Probation Violation and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Drugs
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Tuesday, May 8, 12:31 p.m., 3201 Tremont Ave., "Mill Security reported a male subject sitting by the front entrance, Security observed a pipe stowed in his sock.  Officers contacted the subjects at location."  Forty-three year old Harry Everett, Coos Bay, arrested for PCS Schedule I and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Stolen books
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Tuesday, May 8, 11:18 a.m., Simpson Park, "officers looking for transient camp in brush area of Simpson Park.  Officers located empty campsite but located several stolen library books.  Theft value: $84 for three books."

VRO
A 24-year old North Bend male was arrested on three-counts of Violation of Restraining Order Monday, May 7.  According to a Coos Co. Sheriff's Office news release, Gabriel Long was taken into custody about 7:41 p.m. at a residence in the Hauser area.  He was also charged with Menacing and Criminal Mischief II.  Long was transported to the county jail at Coquille.

Unwelcome welcome
She had her own style of welcoming motorists on the 1400 block of Sherman Ave. in North Bend Monday, May 7.  According to an entry on the police log for 1:43 p.m., "report of female flashing passing motorists and relieving herself in the bush there.  Officer respond and contacted the female along with a transient male.  Warned for the Indecent Exposure."

Elude
A "drive complaint" Monday, May 7 in North Bend led to an arrest.  According to an entry on the police log for 1:18 p.m., Fenwick St. northbound at Virginia, a 2001 Oldsmobile, "subject attempted to elude."  Thirty-six year old Tye Kusserow, Roseburg, arrested for Elude and Violation of Restraining Order.  Coos Bay Police also issued citations for Failure to Signal Lane Change, Using Cell Phone while Driving, DWS Violation and False Info to Police Officer.  Vehicle was released to subject's father.

Individuals in North Bend
It has been a full moon week.  Activities involving individuals on the North Bend Police log for Monday, May 7.  At 1:54 p.m., 1900 block Sherman Ave., "RP reported a male subject named 'Dave' who is possibly wanted by the police is outside the business.  She is afraid of him as he has made threats in the past.  Officer responded/advised subject left on foot prior to his arrival northbound on Sherman.  Officer unable to locale; gone prior to arrival."  At 2:01 p.m., "City of North Bend Records reported agitated male subject causing problems in the lobby, request officer respond.  Officers respond / contacted the male subject, attempted to assist in returning the property."  At 2:10 p.m., northbound Sherman Ave./McCullough, "North Bend Visitor's Center reported observed a male transient drinking a bottle of wine, subject then headed under the bridge with another female subject.  OSP assisted in contacted the subject, warned him at NB officers request."  At 2:59 p.m., 1611 Newmark Ave., "RP reported a male subject in the Mall that they would like trespassed from Mall properties.  They are afraid to approach him.  3:19 p.m., RP recalled and advised subject is now 'freaking out' laying on the bench screaming at the top of his lungs scaring customers.  Officers responded/subject left upon request."  At 5:23 p.m., 1585 Sherman Ave., "Ashworth's reported problem with a male transient whose been previously trespassed from location hanging around the area , not the property.  Officers respond and warned the subject to stay away from the property."  At 5:29 p.m., South Sherman, "RP reported a male subject irate with another driver while he headed southbound in front of him on Sherman Ave., suspect vehicle continued southbound on Sherman Ave."  At 10:23 p.m., 2100 block Sherman Ave., "RP reported subject keeps harassing her on the phone and keeps coming over to her residence knocking on the door and looking in her windows.  Officer contacted both subjects and both warned for telephonic harassment and advised to avoid each other." 

Resist Arrest
He was allegedly blocking the entrance to Tiny's Tavern at 1971 Union Ave. in North Bend Monday morning, May 7.  According to an entry on the police log for 1:15 a.m., 31-year old Timothy Brockway, North bend, was taken into custody on charges of Disorderly Conduct, Offensive Littering, Resisting Arrest and Harassment.  He was transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Shoplifter
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Sunday, May 6, 5:45 p.m., 2231 Newmark St., "Radio Shack request an officer reference a male subject returning that has previously stolen items from the store and captured on surveillance."  Officers responded, contacted 37-year old Terry Allen Paiva Jr., Coos Bay, and reviewed the surveillance.  Paiva was charged with Theft II, Attempted Theft II, Criminal Mischief III and Possession Burglary Tools.  Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

DUII
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for early Friday morning, May 4, 1:57 a.m., Oak and Newmark, "traffic stop," 38-year old Charlene M. Orchard, North Bend, cited for DUII (BAC .19%), vehicle secured at scene.

Males
Entries on the North Bend Police log for Thursday, May 3, involving males.  At 2:10 p.m., 1800 block Madrona St., "RP reports suspicious male sneaking around the residence at various times.  RP advises he comes out from around the side of the residence and is very strange.  Always on foot.  Last seen approximately 20 minutes ago and headed northbound.   RP will call if she sees him again."  At 2:18 p.m., 1700 block Virginia Ave., "RP reports intoxicated male stumbling and almost falling into traffic.  Officer responded, checked the area and also checked the mall.  Unable to locate."  At 7:08 p.m., Newmark and Edgewood, "male kicking the fence knocking the boards out.  Subject warned for Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Mischief."  At 1:29 a.m., Friday, Sherman and Virginia, "male damaging a vehicle."  Report taken for Criminal Mischief II, Menacing Domestic.

Trespassing
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for early Sunday morning, May 6, 12:50 a.m., 3201 Tremont Ave., "Mill Casino request officer for subject that was trespassing at location and fourth with Security.  Subject detained in being brought to holding room."  Forty-nine year old Robert Roos, Winchester Bay, charged with Criminal Trespass II and Disorderly Conduct.  Transported to the Coos Co.  Jail at Coquille.

Warrant
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Saturday, May 5, 9:35 a.m., Florence PD served NBPD warrant on 32-year old Sheree A Thurman, Coos Bay, for Failure to Appear on original charge of DUII.

VRO
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Saturday, May 5, 1:04 p.m., 2100 block California Ave., "female subject contacted NBPD with questions reference Restraining Order, possibility that the restrained subject on her own order was present."  Forty-year old Kevin Michael Motts, North Bend arrested for VRO and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Pink Stun Gun
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Saturday, May 5, 3201 Tremont Ave., "suspicious male at location."  Twenty-six year old Leon Luck, Coos Bay, arrested on Probation Violation charge and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.  A "pink stun gun seized for safe keeping."  He was also warned for Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

Fell
North Bend Fire EMS and police responded to a report of a male who fell off of a scaffold on the 800 block of Tower St., Wednesday, May 2.  According to an entry on the police log for 11:31 a.m., the individual was not conscious or breathing.  The Coos Co. Medical Examiner was also summoned to the address.
